Factions Skills - Dividing?
Its been quite some time since the faction (kurzick/luxon) skills have come out, and one thing that I have been noticing is that the guild/alliance division is much too permanent. Now, only certain people who have high ranks in either Kurzick or Luxon will simple not join a guild of the opposite race (or a guild will not join an alliance)
Is it really smart to have the skills split between them? As the "common" community gains their faction through one alliance, it seems that its creating a massive division when trying to form new guilds, or adding long lost friends to your guild, etc...
Is there a solution that can combine the luxon/kurk skills such as making them the same, and perhaps allowing a new title that combines total faction for the skills?

Uhhhh.
They are the same skill, just diffrent skill Icons.
From Wiki:
There are two separate icons for each skill depending on whether it is the Kurzick or Luxon version of the skill. The Kurzick skills are tied to the Friend of the Kurzicks track and the Luxon to Friend of the Luxons. It is not possible to equip both the Kurzick and Luxon version of a skill at the same time.
Did you mean something else?

If you get your kurzick rank up so high and use kurzick side skills, changing to luxon requires you to gain luxon rank to use the luxon side skills.
But what's to keep you from using the kurzick side skill you already have instead of the luxon variant?
Noone sees your skill bar but you, and whoever you ping it to. Just say you spent time as the other faction...who cares? Not like the kurzick skill doesn't work against kurzicks in AB.

That is made so you have to stick to one side. It's the whole poin of the Factions system.

meh... perhaps they could have both factions still, but as far as the faction points go they combine to be the power of your factions skill.

Eh, doesn't really matter. Most of those skills are crummy anyway. Besides, you could always do like me and get both titles.

Just want to eco this statement. Being forced to choose sides was a MAJOR part of Factions.
